from the edges of the petals.

it's sacred.
A moment to lie down,
breathe deep,
and let the journey
wait.

These poppies don’t stop me.
They steady me.
They whisper,
even on the way to something great,
you are allowed to pause.

So I do.
I close my eyes,
wrapped in a yellow brick haze,
and let the world blur.
