The excitement of receiving answers long-pursued, knowledge once hidden...

Exotic-looking, widespread, and toxic, the Pokeweed is a common plant of the Appalachian region. Every part of the plant is toxic, especially the berries. Native Americans sometimes used this plant as a purgative, and to treat rheumatism, arthritis, and cancer. The toxicity can be reduced by boiling the leaves, but the Pokeweed is known as one of the more dangerous plants of the Appalachian wilderness (the information above is not professional medical advice).

After receiving inspiration on a trip to the mountains of North Carolina, I wanted to create a collection about how the quietude and complexity of the outdoors can bring peace and clarity of mind. Every piece in this collection is meant to allow you to step into a moment of rest, silence the mental chaos, and gain new perspective in the beauty of nature.
