We have traveled from a distant country
to reach this long-awaited shore.
Yet the sea is vast,
and the waves wear down our confidence.
The horizon stretches wide
into a world indifferent to our presence.

Still, our place is on the rocks,
between the pull of comfort and the edge of danger.
Not retreating inland,
not surrendering ourselves to the sea,
but standing on the fault line between safety and risk,
holding the boundary between storm and solid ground.

For it is here
that truth is stripped of all excess.
Here, the gray dissolves into clarity.
Here, you learn to see with precision,
to hear with sharpness,
to define your place in the world.
