I remember the field,
how it stretched forever
in the Wizard of Oz,
scarlet petals waving
like they knew something
we didn’t.
A trap,
a hush wrapped in danger.
But here,
there is no wickedness.
No spell.
Only rest.
The poppies sway gently,
like a lullaby hummed
without words,
just the rhythm of letting go.
A soft place
between the striving
and the arrival.
Dreams drip
from the edges of the petals.
Sleep isn't sabotage here,
it's sacred.
A moment to lie down,
breathe deep,
and let the journey
wait.
These poppies don’t stop me.
They steady me.
They whisper,
even on the way to something great,
you are allowed to pause.
So I do.
I close my eyes,
wrapped in a yellow brick haze,
and let the world blur.
